The Judge's mission in selecting the winner of this Biz X "Oscar" was to find the best sports bar in the downtown Detroit area. Sports fans spoke loud and clear in their support of Cobo Joe's as the winner with over 400 signatures. Comments from customers such as, "good food, friendly wait staff and low prices" make Cobo Joe's a natural choice to hang out before, during or after sporting events in Detroit and their location between Cobo and Joe Louis Arena is convenient and definitely the closest bar around! And to top it off Canadian money is always accepted at par.

Current owner Richard Cadreau took over operation of Cobo Joe's in December of 2004 and has succeeded in creating an environment where patrons can cut loose and have fun. Cadreau says, "We encourage people to have a good time here, women dancing on the bar is strictly enforced." You can watch the game on TV or take a spin on the dance floor, too! Plus you'll also see bartenders, such as Maggie and Stella, light up the bar with amazing fire tricks!

Cobo Joe's also offers the best pizza in Detroit and a menu featuring a generous selection of deli sandwiches, burgers and wraps, most for between $5 and $6.
